Two Years of RWM: A Conversation About Who We Serve

If you’d told me back in September of 2023 that we’d be here, two years into building RWM, I might’ve smiled politely and said, “I sure hope so.” But deep down, I knew we were onto something special.

It started with a leap. I launched Rockwell Financial Partners, and not long after, Mike took a leap of faith too, joining Julie and me to create what is now RWM. Since then, week after week, we’ve been humbled by the progress we’ve made, not just in growing a business, but in helping families move forward with clarity and confidence. To those of you who’ve joined us, supported us, and cheered us on; thank you. Truly. We hope any bumps in the road during our early days have smoothed out, and that you feel the difference in how we serve you.

Let’s talk about who we serve, because that’s the heart of it all.

Some firms chase a niche: high net worth individuals, referrals from CPAs, or specific professions. That’s fine. But from day one, we knew our people. We serve families, real families, who are busy, thoughtful, and looking for a trusted partner to help them make smart decisions. They’re not just looking for investment advice. They want someone who understands the full picture: taxes, estate planning, cash flow, life transitions, and yes, the occasional curveball.

Back at our previous firm, we were boxed in. One-size-fits-all software. Limited offerings. Advice that didn’t always match the complexity of our clients’ lives. And we knew, especially as we earned our designations and gained experience, that our clients deserved more. They needed more.

So, we built RWM for families who are short on time but big on intention. Folks who want to delegate, who value white-glove service, and who crave holistic advice that speaks to their real-life concerns. Our goal? To be the one-stop shop that helps you sleep better at night, knowing someone’s got your back.

Has it been perfect? No. Has it been easy? Definitely not. But we’ve built a team and a process that’s ready to handle everything from portfolio management to life’s big “what now?” moments,…with speed, care, and a deep respect for your time.

I started in this industry in 2002, dialing 40 numbers a night from the phone book, selling home and auto insurance. I was amazed by how many people invited me into their homes, sat me down at their kitchen tables, and let me help. What I learned then still guides me today: people just want what’s best for their families. They want to avoid big mistakes. And most of all, they want someone they can call; someone who’ll pick up, even if the question isn’t “in our lane.”

We’ve been that call. We’ve helped clients negotiate with salespeople at car dealerships. We’ve helped those same salespeople plan for their futures. We’ve guided business owners through growth and sales. We’ve celebrated wins, mourned losses, and answered the late night “what do I do now?” calls. We’ve been there when kids picked colleges, when parents passed away, and when life threw curveballs. Through it all, our north star has never wavered: our clients come first. Not profits. Not metrics. Not corporate incentives. Just people.

So here’s what we promise:
